Our Mission

The Humane Society of Cambria County aims to provide a second chance for the abandoned, surrendered, and stray animals of Cambria County through the means of a no-kill philosophy and quality of life policy, our volunteer and foster programs, animal control services, a spay and neuter requirement, our veterinarian relationships, animal training assistance, a vetted adoption process, responsible pet ownership, and, most importantly, the human-and-animal bond.

Our Pet in the Spotlight

Bartholomew is a 2 year old mixed breed and has been at the humane society since April 1, 2022. He was found as a stray running along Solomon Run Road. He was scared and avoided those trying to help him until our animal control officer was able to safely capture him. Unfortunately no one ever came forward to claim him. The humane society has been a hard adjustment for this boy, and being in this environment causes him stress and anxiety. Once out of his kennel, Bartholomew is loving, affectionate and sweet. Bartholomew is a large boy, and would do best with an experienced owner, and in a home with no small kids, or cats. He walks well on a leash with proper handling and would love to be apart of your family! Could Bartholomew be the right match for you?

Volunteer of the Month

For the month of June, we would like to recognize Julia as #VolunteeroftheMonth! Julia has been volunteering at the Humane Society of Cambria County since September of 2020. What she enjoys the most about volunteering is that she can make an animal’s days just by letting them out to exercise and giving them her love and attention. She loves seeing them being their amazing selves outside of their kennels as well as seeing previously shy or scared animals open up. Julia would tell others that volunteering is all about asking yourself what you can do for the animals. There is nothing better than seeing your love and dedication having positive impacts on the animals! Thank you Julia for being a compassionate and dedicated volunteer! Read Julia’s full story here!
