What is a Working Cat Program?

The Humane Society of Cambria County has established a Working Cat Program to help the cats of the community, as well as the members of the community that could benefit from the rewards of owning a working cat.

The purpose of our Working Cat Program (WCP) is to find safe places for cats that are not suitable for in-home living. Working cats are feral or exhibit feral-like behaviors, and typically prefer the company of other animals over the company of people. The cats inducted into the WCP have been vetted, spayed or neutered, and vaccinated; they have been “ear tipped” to distinguish their spay/neuter status.

*** THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF CAMBRIA COUNTY DOES NOT INDUCT ANY CATS INTO THE PROGRAM WHO ARE SUITABLE FOR IN-HOME LIVING ***

How to obtain a working cat

Working cats will be available at our shelter located at 743 Galleria Drive Extension.

There is no fee for a working cat! We simply ask that you provide all working cats with shelter, food, and water as well as veterinary care when it is needed.

Please complete our Working Cat Request Form! Contact us at info@cambriacountyhs.com with further questions.
